HCL Infosystems Takes Banking To The Unbanked

Client Brief

The client is one of the largest nationalized banks in India with an international presence in over 25 countries. They offer banking and financial services to business, corporate and retail customers through a variety of delivery channels and through its specialized subsidiaries and affiliates in the areas of investment banking, credit cards and asset management. They have a wide reach across the country with over 3000 branches in semi- urban and rural India.

Client Requirements

The client was looking for application virtualization solutions implementation by opening ultra small branches (USB) in villages with a population of less than 2000.

As the bank was in the process of implementing these guidelines with a broader objective using the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) concept they were looking for an IT partner who could help them build centralized applications that can be accessed from anywhere using public network/Bank WAN through mobile devices like laptops, tablets, iPads, smart phones etc.
